Villa Tocino is a detached villa that sleeps six, on one level, consisting of light, airy and spacious lounge/diner, with traditional fire place and tiled floors ensuring that it remains cool, even during the summer months; fully equipped kitchen and utility room; one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two twin bedrooms, ample wardrobe space; one shower room; large covered sun-terrace, which is one of the most used parts of the villa, where you can produce a fantastic alfresco experience, to be enjoyed by everyone; large garage in enclosed grounds of 2,500 square metres with adjacent almond grove. Suitable for families with children or couples but unfortunately, unsuitable for wheelchair access. It has its own private pool that is approximately 8m x 4m and 1.2m to 1.9m deep with ladder and roman steps. We aim to provide a home-from-home villa holiday, and our guests agree, some having returned year after year! If you want to relax and be at ease, then this is the place for you! The village of Hondon de los Frailes is a five minute drive away (or 20 minute walk) and has local shops, bars and restaurants. A larger supermarket is a 15 minutes drive over the mountain in Albertera. The villa is only 40 minutes drive from the beautiful Guardamar del Segura beach which stretches for eight kilometres along the coast, it has natural sand dunes and a marina located at the mouth of the Segura river. Alicante airport, 40 minutes away or Murcia San Javea airport, 75 minutes. There are a number of golf courses and water parks in the area - see Places of Interest.
The surrounding Crevillente mountains provide ideal walking for enthusiasts and casual ramblers alike with walks for people of all levels of fitness and expertise and is also particularly attractive for cyclists for its testing mountain passes which reward you with spectacular views. The rugged mountains and nature reserves around Hondon de los Frailes offer a landscape of ridges, enormous crags, and shady pines. Orange, lemon and almond groves enhance the valleys, whilst attractive mountain villages provide hospitality, offering a taste of the real Spain, far removed in character from the developed coastal strip.

Local Weather

The weather in Hondon de los Frailes is usually sunny, just like it is all over the Costa Blanca, with wonderful sweltering sun-drenched summers and balmy sunny winters. It does not rain very often, but when it does the storms here can be utterly magnificent.
